Awards, Honors, and Recognition

• I have five trophies for horseback riding at Autumn Rose riding stable

• In March, 2001, the whole 4
th grade from Tremont School helped me celebrate becoming a citizen of the United States when we visited the Ohio State House

• In April, 2001, I raised over $750 in contributions for MDA when I participated in a Pop-A-Thon. They laid bubblepack down on the floor of the gym, and I had two minutes to see how many bubbles I could run over in my wheelchair. I took pledges from 50 states, Guam, and DC from folks who gave money for each bubble I popped.

• In May, 2001, the local paper (Upper Arlington News) did an article about me. Download the article here! (approximately 4 megabytes)

• In June, 2002, I won the President’s Award for Academic Achievement for my class

• I received ribbons for academic honors (GPA over 3.75) in both 6
th and 7th grade (and I’ll do it again in 8th grade!)

• In May, 2004, I won an award for Outstanding Student Achievement from the Central Ohio Regional Resource Center

• In October, 2004, I was profiled in a book entitled “Kids on Wheels” from New Mobility Press

• In February, 2005, a local paper (This Week in Upper Arlington) did an article about me. Download the article here! (approximately 268k)

• On June 8, 2005, I graduated from Jones Middle School with a 3.954 GPA. High School here I come!
